Teeming with sea life, Komodo National Park’s plentiful coral reefs are considered some of the best in all of Indonesia. Dolphins and manta rays are common sightings, and the area is also on a whale migration route.
The grassy sloped islands that make up the park offer visitors gentle trekking trails and beautiful beaches to relax on, as well as the opportunity to see the famous Komodo dragons, the largest living lizards on the planet. This 10-night itinerary in Komodo aboard the luxurious Lamima, the world’s largest wooden sailing yacht, is an extraordinary glimpse into Indonesia.

ITINERARY
DAY 1: GILI LAWA LAUT
On arrival at Labuan Bajo Airport, our crew will transfer you to Lamima. While you are relaxing and having lunch, we will set sail for Gili Lawa Laut. There, we will anchor in a secluded bay with stunning scenery close to some of the most exciting dive sites in Indonesia.
Here you will dive or snorkle with schools of fish including trevally, groupers, sweetlips, barracudas, and white tip reef sharks. These waters are teeming with incredible marine life. In the afternoon, we will take a hike to a spectacular view point from where we can see Lamima anchored in the bay. We will spend the rest of your first day here doing water-sports.
DAY 2: MT. SANGEANG ISLAND
An active volcano called Sangeang is a natural phenomenon with amazing topography. Reefs are excellent here with good visibility and volcanic black sand background allowing you to appreciate the colorful soft and hard corals as well as different types of anemones.
Dive on Hot Rock Reef on the active volcano to be surrounded by harmless but amazing sulfur bubbles from a natural underwater vent.
Possibility of a beautiful hike in the afternoon inside a canyon.
DAY 3: MOYO ISLAND
This island host a beautiful dive site with plenty of marine life and healthy reef. In the afternoon, after a short ride, we will reach a nice local village from where we will walk to a stunning river with multi-terraced waterfall where you will be able to swim and relax in natural bath.
DAY 4: SALEH BAY
Teluk Saleh has attracted a lot of interest recently as some whale sharks have been spotted in the bay and remain there since. With our local guide, we will find the best time to swim with them.
DAY 5: SATONDA
Satonda Island was formed with the eruption of Mt. Tambora, the second largest volcano eruption ever recorded. This small island has a crater in the middle that is a saltwater lake. The surrounding beaches in Satonda are perfect for spending the afternoon snorkeling and paddleboarding. This is also an ideal area to see pygmy seahorses and a wide variety of marine life.
DAY 6: TORO MABALANG
Outstanding white sand beach (slightly pink due to the red coral).
This sheltered bay will be the perfect place for watersport, beach combing, and night barbecue. The divers will enjoy the beautiful waters and colorful corals.
For the beginner diver the start from the beach will make it very easy.
On the sunset, you can go for a stroll above the beach to admire the anchorage with Lamima and the volcano in the background.
DAY 7: GILI BANTA
Today’s calling point is the perfect spot for a relaxed day of walks on the long, white sand beach or perhaps some watersports in a sheltered bay surrounded by beautiful scenery as jet skiing is allowed in this area. With its hard coral gardens, it’s a great place for shallow and drift diving with the possibility of swimming with Manta Rays.
DAY 8: TORO MONCO
During our early cruise to North Komodo, we will stop on Teluk Boko where we will be able to witness Komodo Dragons on the beach.
Then we will continue our journey and drop anchor in front of Toro Monco, a beautiful white sandy beach sheltered in a majestic bay in the Northwest of the Komodo National Park. It is an excellend diving spot and perfect to do watersports.
DAY 9: SOUTH RINCA and PADAR
In the morning, sail to South Rinca, one of the region’s best dive sites. You will get to experience the best of what Komodo National Park has to offer. Swim with nudibranch, turtles, sea snakes and frogfish among some of the most colorful corals in Indonesia. Before lunch, we will take you by tender to the shore where you will be able to see the world’s largest living lizard, the Komodo Dragon.
During lunch time, we will move to Padar Island to hike the iconic islands of Komodo National Park. After an afternoon of watersports, we will engage a sunset hike to see the 3 majestic bays.
DAY 10: BIDADARI
Early cruise to Tatawa Besar. This is a very good place to see many turtles during diving or snorkeling. After lunch, our crew will put all the sails up and cruise towards Bidadari where we will be able to use all the watersports.
